Marine Accident Claims One Life

Officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) are investigating a tragic marine accident that occurred on Friday, November 22, after 6 pm in the vicinity of Saba Rock.

Preliminary reports indicate that a 21-foot RHIB collided with a dinghy, resulting in serious injuries to one individual.

The injured person, identified as Stephen Cross Jr., a 39-year-old resident of St. Thomas, USVI, was immediately transported to the Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic and subsequently the Dr. Orlando Smith Hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of medical personnel, Mr. Cross succumbed to his injuries.

The RVIPF extends condolences to the family and loved ones of Stephen Cross during this difficult time.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
